Temporary exhibition “Weapons through time” open at the History Museum from Piatra Neamt

weapons-exhibition-piatra-neamt-2011Between March 25 and May 31, 2011 at The History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt you can visit the exhibition “Weapons through time”, that contains weapon replicas. This temporary exhibition contains more than 80 pieces of weapons and different objects that were used by soldier over time.

Visitors will have the chance to admire some great replicas of some of the most famous weapons of all times like the Luger gun, Walther P38, Walther PPK, the Brown Bess flintlock rifle, the Lee Enfield rifle, the famous Colt and Le Mat, the famous M1 Thomson and a Catana sword – the samurai’s weapon of choice.

Together with these weapons the exhibition contains some reconstructions of equipments and clothing elements that were used by soldiers from antiquity and from the dark ages like the roman legionary, the Turkish janissary or the medieval knight.

The collection is completed by illustrations and text from where visitors can find a short history of weapons used by men over time.

The temporary exhibition “Weapons through time” from The History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt will be open for public from Tuesday until Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00. Starting with April 1st, the exhibition will be open between 10:00 and 18:00. On Mondays the museum is closed. The price of a ticket is 2 RON/adult and 1 RON/child.
