“King Carol I’s Romania” Exhibition at the History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt

12-expozitie-regele-carol-iTo commemorate 175 years from the birth of king Carol I and 100 years from his death at the History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt takes place between March 20 and May 21 2014 the temporary exhibition “King Carol I’s Romania”.

The event is organized by Neamt County Museum Complex in collaboration with the History Museum of Romania, Peles National Museum, the National Military Museum King Ferdinand I and Neamt County Service of National Archives. The organizers want to present an exhibition that speaks about the personality of king Carol I.

Visitors will have the chance to admire a valuable patrimony from a historic, artistic and memorial view. All the objects exhibited are from the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century and are representative for the period of time when Carol I lived and was also king.

The exhibition starts with the moment when Carol I came to Romania, in May 1866 and end with the funerals of the king in September 1914 and presents the 48 years of reign that transformed Romania both internally and internationally.

Among other objects like documents and personal things there are also famous weapons and paintings by Preziosi, Carol Popp de Szathmari, Sava Hentia, Octav Bancila,Ettore Ferrari and Paul Telge.

We invite you to visit the exhibition between March 20 and May 21 2014 between 09:00 and 17:00 and from April 1 between 10:00 and 18:00.
