Swans and wild ducks on Pangarati Lake

Here, every day, hundreds of birds offer a true spectacle to locals and those that are passing by. Tens of people take a break on the shore of the lake to see the swans and the wild ducks that come to spend the winter here.

The swans attract the eye with their pure white or black feathers. These birds visit Pangarati Lake for some years now and it become popular among the locals.

Although lately more bird species come to spend the winter here, in the beginning of spring their number is rising.

On the shore of Pangarati Lake there are three observers from where visitors can admire the beauty of these birds. The flora and fauna of this place are protected by law and give to Pangarati Lake a unique beauty.

Considering the behavior of these migrating birds, specialists from the Environmental Protection Agency think that the birds leave Pangarati Lake only if the winter is harsh.

The gracious winter swans are protected by law and together with the smaller wild ducks have become a true touristic attraction: everyone is stopping to see and photograph the birds on the lake.
