At Lascar Vorel Art Galleries from Piatra Neamt will take place between April 2 and 9 2014 the exhibition “Gheorghe Diaconu Retrospective” that unites paintings, graphics, religious icons on glass and wood made by the artist in different stages of his life. The exhibition is organized by the Union of Artists from Neamt County in memory of Diaconu Gheorghe now when there are 6 years from his departure from this world.

The painter Diaconu Gheorghe was born in 1944 at Galda de Jos in Alba County. He graduated in 1965 the Art Faculty from Iasi at the class of Professor Adrian Podoleanu and in 1972 he had his first personal exhibition organized at Tineretului Theater from Piatra Neamt. From 1990 he became a member at the Union of Artists from Neamt County.

During his life the painter had over 30 personal and group exhibitions in Romania and other countries. In 1992 he had a personal exhibition in Rouane and Charlieu in France, in 2000 he exhibited in Valencia, Peniscola and Venice and in 2004 he opened an exhibition in Sidney.
