Union of the Principalities Day – 24th of January, events in Neamt

DSC_8521_resizeIn Piatra Neamt, events occasioned by the celebration of the Union have started on 21st of January at the Museum of History and Archaeology, where it was held the symposium The Union, the nation did it!, manifestation in collaboration with The Garrison, The Military Circle, Association of Reserve and Retired Officers in Piatra Neamt, with the participation of students from the School of Arts Victor Brauner, who performed a concert of classical music in the presence of a large audience. On 22nd of January, organized by Inspectorate of Education, County Association of Teachers of History, at National College Petru Rares was held  the symposium January 24 in the national consciousness, where were presented speeches and essays by history teachers from the National Colleges Petru Rares, Calistrat Hogaş, National College of Transport, LPS Piatra Neamt and the Roznov Lyceum.

The capricious weather of January 24th did not prevent the celebration of the Union. On the Royal Court Plateau, organized by Center for Culture and Arts Carmen Saeculare and Piatra Neamt City Hall, together with members from “Floricică de la munte” Ensemble was played Hora Unirii (union round dances), thus celebrating 156 years since the Union of Romanian Principalities, a dance that will be organized here from now on, every year, as promised by local authorities. On the same day, teachers in collaboration with the Museum of History and Archaeology, celebrated the union by a methodical and scientific activity which attended secondary school teachers in the county, methodists, curator and numerous guests. In their word, speakers emphasized the duty of teachers to transmit to younger generation that January 24th  is the day that our nation has gained dignity and rightful place in Europe and in the world.
