The church from Tazlau Monastery was built by ruler Stefan cel Mare and was painted in 1496. Judging on the inscriptions found inside the church we find that the painting was remade between 1858 and 1859. During this time the interior of the church was also restored and the painting should’ve been executed in oil.

According to historians, Neamt Monastery was built in XIV century and is the oldest Orthodox monastery from Moldova. The monastery is located in Vanatori village, from Neamt County, near Targu Neamt on the valley of Nemtisor Creek. The monastery is also known as “The Jerusalem of the Romanian Orthodoxy”.
Neamt Monastery has a incredible collection of religious objects, paintings, manuscripts and old typography pieces that have a great historic, religious, cultural and artistic value. Also, here there is the oldest religious library with over 18,000 books.

The religious settlement from Secu is organized in few buildings and each and everyone has a great historic and religious value. Secu Monastery was built just like a medieval stronghold with thick stone walls. The church is located in the middle and on two corners there are two chapels: St Nicolae and St Mary open for pilgrims to visit it.

Secu Monastery is an old religious settlement from Neamt County that has almost 500 years. In its early years, the monastery was located on the property of Neamt Stronghold, on the valley of Secu Creek. Here, in this place, in 1530 the ruler Petru Musat built the church of Zosima Hermitage. The church that was destroyed in the fire from 1821 was located on the place where today we can visit the cemetery’s church from Secu Monastery.
