The Festival “Sarbatoare pe Ceahlau”

celebration-on-ceahlauEach year on the first Sunday from August, Ceahlau commune prepares for celebration. Sunday, August 7, 2011 starting with 12:00 will take place in Ceahlau commune the second edition of the festival “Sarbatoare pe Ceahlau” (“Celebration on Ceahlau Mountain”) dedicated to folkloric bands from the rural environment.

The first edition of the festival was last year when 11 bands from Neamt County and Suceava participated at the event. At the festival also participated many tourists that come in Neamt County this time of year to hike on Ceahlau Mountain or to participate at the religious service from August 6 at the monastery from Ceahlau Mountain.

At this year’s edition participated 9 bands from counties like Bistrita-Nasaud, Suceava, Vaslui and Neamt: “Cununita” band from Ilva Mare, Bistrita-Nasaud, “Cetina Calimanilor” from Saru Dornei, Suceava, “Braduletul” from Dorna Arini, Suceava, “Iustinasii” from Feresti, Vaslui, “Solestenii” from Solesti, Vaslui, “Muntenarii” from Munteni, Vaslui, “Ozana” from Tg Neamt, Neamt, “Drumul Baltagului” from Borca, Neamt, “Mugurasii Marginenilor” from Margineni, Neamt.

Special guest of the festival will be the folkloric band “Floricica de la munte” from “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center and singers Diaconu-Chirita, Giorgiana Axinte-Serban and Ioan Hongu. The evening will end with recitals by Matilda Pascal-Cojocarita, Stefan Cigu and Narcis Precup.

The organizers of the festival are the town hall of Ceahlau commune, “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center with the support of Neamt County Copuncil.
