PETRE ŢUŢEA Cultural Center invites you to Lute Festival

P1070536_resizeContinuing serious project of medieval art conducted in the past 10 years in four medieval sites in the Upper Country Moldova, is a great pleasure for us to invite you Friday, August 22, 2014, starting at 16.00 in Council Room of Neamt Fortress , located on Pleşului Hill, at the press conference dedicated to the fourth edition of the Lute Festival in Neamt Fortress will begin the same day at sunset.

The press conference will be followed by a roundtable discussion on the lute study theme in music education institutions in Romania.

The debate, which hopefully will lead to the introduction of the lute study theme in music education institutions in Romania, will be supported by music discipline school inspectors, directors of educational institutions of music, music teachers, musicians mastered the lute technique and tool builders. After the debate, we invite you, from 19.00 at the opening concert of the IV Festival of Lute in Neamt Fortress.

The event, held on August 22th to 24th under the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in partnership with Neamţ County Museum Complex hosted on the evening hours in the only preserved and restored medieval fortress in Moldova, is open to both host of luteist of Romania (minstrels of Iaşi, Timişoara, Hunedoara) and of musicians who were associated lute (theorbe, vichuela, Celtic harp, virginal). Educational project aims to promote this tool, less known in Romania, and musical awareness education institutions in Romania to introduce it in the current study.

Neamţ Citadel will open from 11 o’clock until sunset, both ancient craft guilds and the public whom they are proposed: theater, plays and children’s animation, Commedia dell’arte, puppet show, workshops manufacture of traditional dolls, folklore, traditional dances, presentation of specific business activities from medieval period (artisans, merchants, farmers), specific exhibitions, public lectures on topics of history and ancient literature, oral workshops, and many, many other surprises (watchmen at the gates of the tower, rescue the princess behold, blind man’s buff from cocoons prince and princesses, fate, fairies, witches with miraculous cures, the guard patrolling the city, the Wallachian Romanian shepherd, with and without muskets musketeers, knights battling swords or luring gentlemen, nobles, princes, peasants, frontier guards, minstrels, troubadours, bucket, spoon, petty thieves and robbers robbing medieval characters and not only …).

The project is designed to initiate organization – through fundraising and media support – cleaning and conservation camps of medieval sites in Neamt County by engaging young volunteers.
