A Neamț artist’s portrait: “My life as a violin player hasn’t been, and it still isn’t an easy one” (…) Think along with Sara Stroici – ep.2

Sara’s dream began when she was still a young girl and her story, as she tells it, is about the years that she spent at “V. Brauner” Arts High school in Piatra Neamț: “As I am taking a look around this place, I realize that every single corner is a part of my childhood, a part of my education as an artist.” – Think along with Sara Stroici – ep.1

“The time spent in Piatra Neamț as a child is very dear to my heart, not just because I had no worries, but because I was extremely curious to find out more about everything and that’s what determined me to understand at a more profound level all the music’s connotations. I am deeply attached to the Arts High school; here is the place where I got to know myself better and by the means of music, I found my true self and how to express my deepest feelings”. – Think along with Sara Stroici – ep.2

Listening to Sara’s music and both to her ambitious plans, you can’t help but notice the value and magnitude of such people. Sara Stroici is one of those artists that come with the warranty of success that implies talent, passion and dedication. A series of such unprecedented projects don’t do otherwise than just make way for the future of those yet to come: “Currently I am conducting a few workshops regarding the development of the inner hearing. I started from the assumption that there aren’t any tone-deaf children, but there are only children with raw hearing (…) the aim is to be able to memorize 2/3 staves at the beginning and then to reach to the point of retaining the whole music pages; this helps you a lot to have an eye for detail (…). We are invaded so much by low standards, so why shouldn’t we be the ones who choose to promote the high standards when we get the chance? And if we don’t do it by the means of the education of our children…I wonder what would be the best way to do it? – Think along with Sara Stroici – ep. 5

“I think that, currently, our greatest need is to have someone to set as an example. The teachers mean nothing if they don’t succeed to be an example that the students wish to follow (…). But the Arts High school teachers succeeded to become mentors. My life is where it is now (…) thanks to the mentors that I have had so far. There was always a teacher who helped me overcome and turn around the hardest moments that happened in my life…” – Think along with Sara Stroici – ep.3

Sara Stroici started learning violin under the guidance of her teacher Mrs. Maricica Gheorghieș at the Arts High school in Piatra Neamț. She continued perfecting her studies under the guidance of the late Univ. Prof. Dr. Anton Diaconu at “George Enescu” Arts National University in Iași. In 2012 she earned a scholarship and she was the student of the violin-player Georg Eggner at Joseph Haydn Konservatorium in Ensenstadt, Austria.

The Master’s Degree studies culminated with a graduation under the guidance of Univ. Prof. Dr. Elena Ovănescu-Pîrvu. The final years at the University revealed a fondness for the solo and comercial violin repertoire of the 20th Century. This fact engaged her in doing a research study on the theme “The Violin as seen by the composers Eugène Ysaÿe, George Enescu, Serghei Prokofiev” structured in a Ph.D. disertation under the guidance of Univ. Prof. Dr. Mr. Șerban-Dimitrie Soreanu at the National Music University in Bucharest.
