On Ceahlău, the magic mountain, the holy mountain of Romanians, every place hides a legend, every image tells a story!

Dochia and Trajan, Stănile, Panaghia, The Water Rock, The Tower of Butu and Ana, The Thunderstruck Rocks, The ledge with lilies. The Sheperd’s Rock or Toaca Peak, and many others that are impressive rocks and stones, mountain slopes and scattered rocks covered in mystery both by their names and by their meaning kept alive since ancient times, all of which you have the opportunity to discover.

With a history of over 100 years, the 1750 m-high Dochia Chalet is the first  chalet built for the tourists at such an impressive height in the Eastern Carpathians. The building of the chalet started in 1904, although some sources state that 1908 is the year of its origin. It has been extended several times and the accommodation capacity has gradually increased. Details about the chalet’s history you can find here:

Resembling a natural fortress, with various nature monuments and attractions for tourists, Ceahlău is the mountain of shepherds and praying people, the proof being the monasteries and hermitages that can be visited by those who want to discover the reasons that make this mountain so special.
