Nationally one of the kind, both history and art museum, it currently hosts the most spectacular artefacts, famous objects that belong to the Cucuteni–Trypillia Culture, which is in fact the most important and extraordinary European prehistoric civilization.

There are 3D objects and photo documentary materials that can be found by the tourists, which show the evolution and development phases of these civilizations in all the areas.

If you had to choose between the two main artistic exhibits of Cucuteni culture creators – the art and ceramics – the painted Cucuteni–Trypillia ceramics can undoubtedly be considered the most significant achievement. It successfully stands out from the most severe examinations and any other comparisons, not only with other kinds of ceramics of the ancient times in Europe, but also with different kinds of achievements in the same domain of the folk’s art of all times, certainly being one of the most brilliant artistic eneolithic achievements of the era.

The Cucuteni Eneolothic Art Museum represents the achievement of the desire of several generations of archaeologists and recognition of the constant efforts made for over seven decades by the Museum of History and Archaeology in Piatra-Neamţ.

Opened to the public on the 24 of June 2005, the Cucuteni Eneolithic Art Museum receives official recognition for its cultural, scientific and artistic value in the cultural Romanian and International domain in 2006. The museum was entitled the “Iulian Antonescu” Prize by the Ministry of Culture and Cults, for the management project titled “The first Cucuteni Museum in Romania”.

The building, in fact one of the most astonishing from the architectural point of view in Piatra-Neamţ, hosts this exceptional collection and is included in the Historic Monuments List. It is situated right in the middle of the historic center of the city, nearby the foundations of Stephen the Great (The Princely Court in Piatra-Neamţ, “Nativity of St. John the Baptist” Church and the Bell Tower), and also close to other significant museum institutions that are part of the National Museum Complex in Neamț County (the Art Museum and the Ethnography Museum).

The Cucuteni Eneolithic Art Museum is undoubtedly one of the most appreciated and visited art museums in Romania and so Piatra-Neamţ city is becoming an important cultural, touristic and scientific center, both in the country and abroad, pleasantly amazing the tourists with its priceless treasures.
