“The Celebration of the Traditional Blouse in Borlești” and “People on Hogaș” in Piatra-Neamț will take place on Saturday, June 22. If you plan your time well, you can attend both events, each offering unique moments, handmade unique items, and especially visionary people who give wings to dreams and transform them into reality.

In the commune of Borlești, you are invited to the celebration of the traditional blouse, where you can admire shirts crafted within the local sewing sitting, a commendable initiative for preserving and transmitting traditions. With over 10 years of valuable local activities and initiatives, it also references the project “The Altița of Borlești Streets” nominated this year for the AFCN Awards in the intangible heritage activation category at the ninth edition of the event. The project included three community cultural workshops with over 70 participants, an album with 31 patterns and 46 shirts with “altița”, an exhibition, and a film documenting the entire process:

Additionally, by participating in the event, you will meet open, bright, cheerful, and initiative-spirited people who have documented the past and tradition of the village, making Borlești the first commune whose intangible cultural heritage, represented by the blouse with “altița”, was inventoried by the community itself:

What can you expect from the hosts? An interactive workshop, the event’s “stars” – the beautiful and unique traditional blouses, folk music, lemonade, sweet and savory treats, and many other surprises you will discover on the spot.

The traditional blouse was born out of necessity and practicality and gained artistic and sentimental value from the moment a woman created it and endowed it with her beliefs, aesthetic sense, and feelings. It increasingly asserts itself in the European and global consciousness as a uniquely beautiful and original Romanian traditional garment.

Changing the location but staying in the same fairytale atmosphere, also on Saturday, June 22, the fourth edition of the event “People on Hogaș” will take place, a meeting with producers, creators, talented children, enthusiastic volunteers, and everyone who wants to experience various activities and enjoy spending a day on Calistrat Hogaș Street in Piatra-Neamț.

Those who have attended “People on Hogaș” know that the event is also dedicated to children, who will enjoy workshops, natural drinks, and snacks, while adults can purchase handmade products from local and regional producers and creators, live music, good cheer, and lots of socializing from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
