The Night of Museums returns this year to Neamț County
We invite you to visit the museums in Piatra-Neamț, Târgu-Neamț, and Roman during this year’s free visit event, on May 17, between 12:00 PM and 12:00 AM!
The museum units involved in the European Night of Museums project, part of the Neamț National Museum Complex, are:

- Workshop: Journey into Moldova’s Past
Led by museum curator Mihai Tudosă and Ioan Olaru, the workshop includes:- Coin minting: visitors observe traditional coin striking and can try making a medieval Moldavian gros.
- History of writing: learn about old Greek and Romanian Cyrillic alphabets and try writing with ink and quill.

Featuring works created in artistic camps from Roman, Piatra-Neamț, Izvorul Alb, Vaslui, Vulturești, Iași, Bacău.
Exhibiting artists include Liviu Hâncu (Chișinău), George Leteanu (Vaslui), Doina Diaconu (Roman), Mihai Olteanu (Roman) - Demo-live, 6th edition (6:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
A dynamic, interactive evening of live art: drawing, painting, portraits, caricature, landscapes, still life – with artists from Roman, Bacău, Botoșani, Chișinău, Vaslui, Bârlad.
Museum of Natural Sciences, Roman
- Permanent exhibition: Nature of the Roman Area
Features a diorama of the deciduous forest ecosystem of the Gâdinți hills at the end of summer. Includes flora like oak, beech, hornbeam, and fauna such as owls, badgers, deer, wolves, and boars.
Highlights protected species like edelweiss, lady’s slipper orchid, and various Romanian peonies, as well as exhibits on butterflies, insect mimicry, and predators.
