Athletes from across the country will meet in Vânători-Neamț Natural Park for a thrilling competition in the heart of the wilderness.

The event will take place between August 22 and 24, 2025, and the organizers — RNP-Romsilva, Vânători-Neamț Natural Park Administration — promise participants a memorable experience that blends physical challenge with the exploration of some of Romania’s most beautiful and authentic landscapes.

Bison Adventure Race 2025 is more than just a race; it’s a complex challenge designed to push participants to their limits through various events held in the great outdoors:
• mountain running
• mountain biking
• kayaking/canoeing
• climbing
• orienteering

Competitors will pass through ancient forests, scenic hills, and areas where bison live in their natural habitat.

Participants can register in teams of two or four, depending on the race format, with the option to choose between:

• Long Race: An intense challenge designed for those with strong physical conditioning and endurance racing experience, looking to push their limits. The approx. 250 km course must be completed in a maximum of 50 hours, in mixed teams of four.
• Short Race: A more accessible format, created for those new to the adventure race concept or looking to enjoy active time in nature. Two-person teams will complete an approx. 100 km route in a maximum of 24 hours.

Adventure races are rare not only in Romania but globally.

Bison Adventure Race 2025 aims to raise public awareness about the importance of conserving Vânători-Neamț Natural Park and protected areas in general. Through this event, the organizers hope to encourage responsible tourism and support the development of local communities.
