Between November 18 and 20, 2011 will take place in Piatra Neamt at the Modern Art Galleries the first edition of “The Traditional Art Gala”. The event was create to celebrate traditional creations and of course local artisans that keep the local traditions alive through their work.

The official opening of the event will take place Friday, November 18 at 14:00. The exhibition presents traditional art objects created by some of the most representatives local artisans from Moldova region. Saturday, November 19, 2011, starting with 12:00 will take place an award festivity.

The local artisans invited to participate at this event are: Eusebiu Iacinschi (Botosani) and Petru Maxim (Dorohoi, Botosani) – ceramics, Marian Lungu (Sanduleni, Bacau) – traditional clothing, Niculina Andronache, Lorena Ciocoiu and Andreea-Petronela Rusu (Vorona, Botosani) – masks and fabrics, Nucu Benţa (Falticeni, Suceava), Ion Albu (Timisesti, Neamt) – masks, Valentina Acasandrei (Iasi) and Cecilia Haisan (Piatra-Neamt) – religious icons, Iulian Mihalachi (Valea Seaca-Baltatesti, Neamt) – fabrics, Ana Grunzu (Tomesti, Iasi).

The organizers of this event are “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center in collaboration with Neamt County Council, Piatra Neamt Town Hall, The Local Artisans Association from Moldova, The Local Artisans Association from Bucovina, The Local Artisans Associations from Neamt County.
