Between March 1 and 15 2012 at the art galleries Lascar Vorel from Piatra Neamt will be the exhibition “Atuportret” (“Self-portrait”) of the painter Stefan Potop. The opening of the exhibition will take place on March 1st at 17:00 by the writer and art critic Lucian Strochi.

The exhibition contains 23 paintings that represent self-portraits created in an original fashion. The paintings are created using the same well known technique of the painter that impresses with the precision of the execution.

The artistic creations exhibited represent 35 years of work from the life of the painter. These self-portraits were exhibited in a Venetian environment without gondolas or water with references to the urban folklore of the place. The paintings are in large formats that impress the audience with their dimensions.

The painter is presented in different situations inside the paintings: Potop as a doge, Potop as a gondolier, Potop as a bishop or Potop in nude.
