The Wooden church from the cemetery of Sihastria Monastery

At Sihastria Monastery, near the cemetery there is a wooden church of great artistic and architectural value that impresses through the original way in which the craftsmen created the ornaments. The church of the cemetery was built at the initiative of Abbot Victorin Oanele.

“Autoportret” exhibition of painter Stefan Potop

Between March 1 and 15 2012 at the art galleries Lascar Vorel from Piatra Neamt will be the exhibition “Atuportret” (“Self-portrait”) of the painter Stefan Potop. The opening of the exhibition will take place on March 1st at 17:00 by the writer and art critic Lucian Strochi.
The exhibition contains 23 paintings that represent self-portraits created in an original fashion. The paintings are created using the same well known technique of the painter that impresses with the precision of the execution.

The celebration of Martisor in Neamt County

The celebration of martisor represents for people in Neamt County a 2000 years old tradition. Together with this symbol of spring people also offer spring flowers like snowdrops.
Martisor is a small ornament tied with a white and red string that appears in Romanian tradition. The red signifies the love for everything that is beautiful and white represents the health and purity of the snowdrop, the first flower of spring. Women and girls receive this symbol of spring, martisor and wear it the entire March month.

The National Piano Contest “Carl Czerny” the XXI edition

Between March 16 and 17 will take place in Piatra Neamt the XXI edition of the National Piano Contest “Carl Czerny”, organized by Neamt County School Inspectorate, together with “Victor Brauner” Art High School and with the support of Piatra Neamt Town Hall. “Florile Ceahlaului” Festival in Piatra Neamt the XXIV edition

Between March 02 and 03, 2012 will take place in Piatra Neamt the 24 edition of the Festival “Florile Ceahlaului” – a national contest of folkloric music for children and youth. The participants will have ages between 8 and 25. There will be two selection stages one in the county and another at national level. The Festival has two sections, one dedicated to contestants with ages between 8 and 15 and another for those between 16 and 25.

The Wood Church from Galu village, Poiana Teiului commune

The wood church from Galu is located inside the cemetery of the village and has as its holly patron St Gheorghe. From an inscription above the entrance door we find that the church was built in 1918 but the Holy Gospel was a gift to the church in November 8, 1780. So there is more than one hypothesis on the date when the church was built.
