The First Edition of the Naïve Art Exhibition from Piatra Neamt

Between November 3 and November 6 2010, in Piatra Neamt will take place the first edition of an exhibition of Naïve Art, organized by “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center. The event will take place at the gallery of the Folk School from Piatra Neamt, located in Mihail Kogalniceanu Plaza, bl H4, ground floor. The Awards of “Pledez pentru Tine(ri)” Theatre Festival from Piatra Neamt

The two weeks of theatre festival at Piatra Neamt are over: Saturday, November 30 2010 was the award gala. The festival, which is the oldest of its kind from Romania, offered a great theatrical experience to the public by presenting shows put together by young artists.

“Adormirea Maicii Domnului” Church from Agapia Monastery

“Adormirea Maicii Domnului” means “The Death of St Mary Mother of Jesus”. This church from Agapia Monastery represents the secondary church of the monastery. The building is located a few meters away from the monastery, outside its walls, among the houses that belong to the nuns.

Neamt Monastery: History, Images and Hermitages

According to historians, Neamt Monastery was built in XIV century and is the oldest Orthodox monastery from Moldova. The monastery is located in Vanatori village, from Neamt County, near Targu Neamt on the valley of Nemtisor Creek. The monastery is also known as “The Jerusalem of the Romanian Orthodoxy”.
Neamt Monastery has a incredible collection of religious objects, paintings, manuscripts and old typography pieces that have a great historic, religious, cultural and artistic value. Also, here there is the oldest religious library with over 18,000 books.
