Between 30 and 31 August 2013 in Piatra Neamt will take place “Filmul de Piatra” Festival the 3.5 edition. This cultural event is organized entirely by volunteers and will take place in two locations at once: Piatra Neamt from Neamt County and Piatra Fantanele from Bistrita Nasaud. At the festival will participate the 45 young volunteers from Piatra Neamt , Bucharest, Cluj, Bacau, Iasi and the team from Tasuleasa Social.

This year at the celebration of Varatec Monastery the holy relics of St Iosif was exhibited to believers during the religious service. St Iosif is well known in the area as the Hermit and he lived in the forests near Varatec for over 30 years.
The saint was born around 1750 in Valea Jidanului village from Transilvania region and later he moved to Moldova. He first entered as a monk at Neamt Monastery and then moved to Pocrov Hermitage. The following years were spent in forests near Sihla Monastery, in solitude …

Neamt County is an area where at the shelter of mountains and forests people from these parts built churches, hermitages and villages.
Among some of the most valuables and oldest creations of traditional architecture from this area are the wood hermitages built in the centuries XVI – XIX. Although the local architecture is similar to the architecture from the entire Moldova region there are some distinct features. The Day of the National Anthem “ Desteapta-te romane”

Between August 15 and 18 2013 in Piatra Neamt will take place the Final of the National Championship of horse jumping over obstacles. The best riders and horses from Romania will gather at the Equestrian Base Virgil Barbuceanu from Piatra Neamt to compete for the national champion title. With this occasion there will also be awarded the TCE 3 Brazi Cup.
The event will start with a parade of the participants on the streets of Piatra Neamt. At the start of this edition will participate 95 riders. The national champion title …
