Here tourists can admire houses that are over 100 years old, houses that illustrate the way people from this place lived.

Although the area is pretty remote and a little bit harder to access, Bicajelul de Jos village offers traditional architecture well preserved and remarkable from an ethnographic stand of point. This village is unique in its own way and is also one of the few of this kind from Romania that still have that scent of old times.

These houses are living proof of values from our past especially because the techniques used to construct these houses are still practiced in this area.

The traditional architecture from Bicajelul de Jos village it’s characterized by the same materials used in construction and also the same building techniques. The locals are famous for their wood carving techniques.

In the courts of these houses you’ll also see old objects used at daily jobs: the entire village is like an open air museum. Through Bicajelul de Jos village passes the touristic route Cheile Bicazului – “Piatra Cherecului” Stone, marked with a red circle on white background.
