9 May 2019 No Comment

For four days, from 2 to 5 May, all across Ozana valley folk music accords echoed loudly. Neamţ Fortress and Târgu Neamţ town center were the meeting points for lovers of this kind of music. The event, undoubtedly, became the most important Romanian folk music festival of 2019.

The opening of the festival was held in the inner courtyard of Neamţ Fortress. The show was spectacular, as the folk music blended perfectly with the medieval atmosphere created by the parade of princes and knights in clothing of the epoch. Here, in a defining space for Romanian history and culture, the audience could enjoy famous folk music artists.

Deriving from an idea advanced and discussed at the end of 2018, the event became, from its very first edition, the largest folk music festival in Romania, which brought together, in Neamţ County, well-known and much beloved artists of the genre, both from Romania and from abroad, among which we mention: Mircea Rusu, Maria Gheorghiu, Mircea Vanca, Adrian Bezna, Adrian Sărmășan, Dinu Olărașu, CALEnDAR Band, Fără Zahăr Band and many more. Not only the nostalgics enjoyed the event. The main aim of the festival was to promote folk music among young people and to encourage the discovery and promotion of young artists. Participants in the contests were aged between 14 and 31, and came from all over the country.
