The Hermitage Braniste is under the administration of the Neamt Monastery and represents a side complex of buildings. The hermitage was built in 1582 from the order of ruler Petru Schipul.

When the abbot of the Neamt Monastery was Arhimandrit Benedict Sauciuc the hermitages that were under the administration of the Neamt Monastery have been restored and many new buildings were built. Between 1999 and 2003 at Braniste a new set of cells were built and also a new chapel. The chapel has as its patrons St Petru and Pavel, celebrated at 29 of June.

Today at the hermitage Braniste there are 4 monks that take care of the place and perform the religious service.
