Memorial House Calistrat Hogaş, situated in the center of Piatra Neamt, at Calistrat Hogaş at No. 1, is built in the year 1885. It was donated to the state in 1967, to become museum. More things you’ll learn by visiting. We now turn our steps towards Youth Theatre on Stephen the Great Square, which was built between 1929 – 1947. We go through the park to the building of the National College Petru Rares, on Stephen the Great Street, built between 1890 – 1892, not without note that under the building is another historical monument, the ruins of the royal cellar.

We go on Stephen The Great Street, passing in front of Town Hall. Across the street is the Museum of Cucuteni Neolithic Art (1935), Museum of Art (1931) and the house where the Museum of Ethnography (1931). Located about 100 meters from the City Hall, the house with amphorae, dates from the nineteenth century. Across the street is an old building that belonged to the Cantacuzino family who owned the estate Serbesti. In 1863, Princess Elena Alexandru Cantacuzino donates the building to the city, organizing it here the first hospital institution in Piatra Neamt. Currently, the location belongs to the Foundation for Community Care. The House Neculai Albu, which is facing Zoological Park, is built in the mid nineteenth century. Held perpendicular to the axis of the street, originally belonged to C. The House Elena Cuza, from no. 55, where lived the wife of Alexandru Ioan Cuza is built in the nineteenth century. Technical College building was built in 1927, and The House of Post Diligence, mentioned in 1817 as a mail station, is, probably the “Inn at Vineyards Valley” where were changing the horses and people were resting before continuing their journey. We turn and descend to reach the street Alexander the Good, at Emanuel Albu House (1872-1873). The house was rented for gymnasium founded in Piatra Neamt (1869 -1874), on 1869, November 27th, was being inaugurated the first class of 30 students, having teachers like Ion Negre for the scientific part and Calistrat Hogaş for the literary part.  The building in which now operates The Victor Brauner – Art High School, is built in 1862.
