This mountain of ours, Mount Ceahlău, was not always as we know it today, high with many rocks piled to the top and thick forests at the foot of the mountain. It is said that Satan wanted to reach up to the sky. He blew one day and one night so that lot of giant stones were gathered in a row. When the Devil wanted to climb up to the sky from which he once had been banished, God has blessed and put His Holy hand upon the mountain that was formed — Ceahlău Massif. Since then, Mount Ceahlău is the mountain of God, the one on which our Holy Father put His hand upon and sanctified it.
