Between March 9 and 13, 2011 Neamt County will participate at the 48 edition of the International Tourism Fair from Berlin (“Internationale Tourismus Börse” – ITB). This event represents one of the most important manifestations of this kind from Europe and the biggest in Germany, with 200.000 visitors in 2010 and 11.000 participants from 180 countries.

This event is a good touristic opportunity for Neamt County, in a moment when the new touristic packages for 2011 are being launched. The main objective for Neamt County is to participate to an international touristic event and to advertise touristic attractions from Neamt County and the authenticity of this land.

A particular characteristic of the International Touristic Fair from Berlin is that the participants create small workshops, where artists can express their talents. Neamt County will be represented by the artist Ciprian Istrate, professor of the Art School from “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center. Together with a student of his, the artist will paint religious icons on glass and ceramics in Cucuteni style.

2011 Berlin Tourism Fair

At the fair will also participate local artisans Ionela and Costi Lungu. Ionela Lungu will create her famous figurines inspired from the tales of our greatest storyteller, Ion Creanga and Costi Lungu will create traditional masks and sticks used by shepherds.  He will use different wood essences like hazel, hornbeam or horn.

Neamt County will participate at the International Tourism Fair from Berlin “Internationale Tourismus Börse” with the support of Neamt County Council and Piatra Neamt Town Hall.
