The idea for this festival, “Tare ca Piatra”(“Strong as a Rock”) began 5 years ago and ever since is organized each year by a group of enthusiast of skating from Piatra Neamt. Starting with 2010 there is a new event: downhill. This event was introduced to maximize the potential of Piatra Neamt.
The participation from this year is impressive: over 100 contestants from counties like Neamt, Brasov, Cluj and Iasi. The skate event will start Saturday, July 17 2010 at Tineretului Swimmin-pool from Piatra Neamt.

The International Festival “Vacante Muzicale la Piatra Neamt” (“Musical Holidays in Piatra Neamt”) started Friday July 2, 2010 at 21:00 in Piatra Neamt with a show by the orchestra “Mihail Jora” from Bacau that interpreted “Famous Opera Pages”. The International Festival “Vacante Muzicale la Piatra Neamt” (“Musical Holidays in Piatra Neamt”) is at its 39 edition and it represents a unique event in Romania. What’s special about this festival is the fact that it combines the concert activity sustained by the students and the bands that participate at the festival with symposiums, seminars of musical virtuosity, educative musical events, interpretation contests, musical workshops, artistic exhibitions, book-launch events and theatrical shows. Neamt County Council re-opened Negulesti Balneal Resort on June 19, 2010. At the event were present representatives of the local authorities, private investors and a synod of priests. A special religious service was organized to mark the opening of the resort.
Negulesti Balneal Resort is located in Piatra Soimului commune, at approximately 25 km of Piatra Neamt and was taken by Neamt Turism Company that was founded by Neamt County Council and Piatra Soimului Town Hall. This year, Piatra Neamt City Days will be organized between June 24 and June 27. The official opening will take place Thursday June 24 at 14:00 at “Stefan cel Mare” Tower from “Piata Libertatii” Plaza and will consist in a show where young talents from Piatra Neamt will perform for everyone that will be present.
