Maria Robu – local artisan from Sabaoani commune, Neamt County

Sabaoani commune is the biggest rural settlement from Neamt County and also one of the oldest and biggest Catholic communities from Moldova. With a population of over 11.000 people, Sabaoani commune is located in the north-east of Neamt County, at about 8 km to the north from Roman.

In Neamt county, Romanian folk traditions are kept alive by the skill and effort of the local artisans. These people manage to recreate objects that were once usual objects that could be found in any traditional Romanian house but now are having more an ornamental role.
