“Duminica tuturor Sfintilor” Church from Miron Costin

In Miron Costin village there is “Duminica tuturor Sfintilor” Church (The Sunday of All Saints Church) that was built during the time of ruler Stefan cel Mare. The church dates back from 1520 and was built on a stone foundation with 1.5 m thick walls, a length of 28 m, a width of 9 m and a height of 20 m. Over time the church was restored with many occasions that altered the original shape.

Traditional architecture on wood churches from Neamt County

The church is the oldest and most beautiful community building from the Romanian traditional village. Around it, the main buildings were also built. These constructions are dated in history from the XIV century and represent old religious remains.
Many of these wooden churches still exist in Neamt County and represent our cultural and historic legacy. The Monastery from Ceahlau Mountain – a place loved by pilgrims

The Monastery “Schimbarea la fata” from the op of Ceahlau Mountain was built in 1993 through the contribution of believers that wanted a religious settlement on top of this holly mountain. Ceahlau is considered to be the sacred mountain of Romania where many monks lived over time. Every Sunday and on religious holydays the small church from the top of the mountain becomes overcrowded.

Visit the exhibition “Regina Maria – Regina tuturor romanilor”

The History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt is hosting the exhibition “Regina Maria – Regina tuturor romanilor” (“Queen Maria – Queen of all Romanians”) that is organized to commemorate 75 years from the death of Queen Maria. This year also there are 170 years from the birth of Queen Elisabeta and 120 years from the birth of king Carol II. The opening of the exhibition took place on March 14 2013 with a musical recital performed by students of “Victor Brauner” Art High School.

Traditions and legends at the beginning of spring

In Neamt County the beginning of spring is full of traditions and legends that are still kept through time. Between March 1 and 9 there is a very old tradition that states that each person should chose one of these days and say “asta-I Baba mea” (“this is my Elder lady”). Tazlau – Matrix Exhibition at “Lascar Vorel” Galleries

A new exhibition of the artist Stefan Potop can be seen at “Lascar Vorel” Galleries from Piatra Neamt. The opening of the exhibition took place Friday March 15 2013 at 17:00 and presented by the art critique Lucian Strochi. Special guest was the writer Constantin Ardeleanu.
