Pilgrim to hermitages that belong to Sihastria Monastery

In Neamt County pilgrims and tourists will visit some of the most well known monasteries from Moldova region and Romania. One of these monasteries is Sihastria Monastery, an important religious settlement from the medieval era.
Sihastria Monastery is located in a place that impresses the pilgrim by the natural beauty of nature and the surrounding forest. This is also the place where some of the most well known monks lived and prayed: Father Ilie Cleopa, Father Paisie Olaru, Father Irineu Protcenco and Father Ioanichie Balan.

St Teodora from Sihla Cathedral, Neamt County

The Cathedral “St Teodora from Sihla” is located in the inner court of Sihastria Monastery and it’s dedicated to St Teodora that lived in Sihla Mountains and was canonized as a saint in 1992. The monks from Sihastria built this church with the intention to bring here the holy relics of St Teodora that are now in Kiev.
The construction began in 1995 with the help of Orthodox believers and pilgrims and ended in 2005. The painting of the cathedral is made in a fresco style and was realized by monks …

Traditional Romanian architecture in Neamt Count: Bicajelul de Jos village

Bicajelul de Jos village is part of Bicaz Chei commune, Neamt County and is a traditional mountain settlement with a great touristic potential because of the traditional Romanian architectural elements, because of the customs and crafts present in these parts. Here tourists can admire houses that are over 100 years old, houses that illustrate the way people from this place lived.

The Ethnography Museum from Borca commune – Neamt County

The Ethnography Museum from Borca commune was opened for public in March 2011 inside the “Mihail Sadoveanu” School. The people responsible for opening this museum are professors Daniel Calu, Dumitrina Iosub, Cristina Marcoci and Dumitru Balacianu that have managed to create a collection of objects that represent our traditions, our customs and the history of people living in these parts.

Temporary exhibition “Weapons through time” open at the History Museum from Piatra Neamt

Between March 25 and May 31, 2011 at The History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt you can visit the exhibition “Weapons through time”, that contains weapon replicas. This temporary exhibition contains more than 80 pieces of weapons and different objects that were used by soldier over time.
