Between January 06 and 09 2011 we invite you to Piatra Neamt to participate at the event called The Film festival “Filmul de Piatra”. This year’s competition is open to short films (fiction, animation, documentary, experiment, video clip) made by film creators from Romania and Moldavian Republic.

The traditional mask-dances from the night of New Year’s Eve represent the celebration of “all madness” in the night when a “new order is installed and when life is reborn”. For centuries traditions like “Capra” (The Goat), “Ursul” (The Bear) or “Calutii” (The Small Horses) are highly appreciated by people that witness these dances. Everywhere in the world this is a special moment when all the people leave all worries behind and hope for a better year together with family and friends. The Film Festival “Filmul de Piatra” will take place in Piatra Neamt between January 6 and 9, 2011. This is the second edition of this national and international film festival that promotes the cultural life of Piatra Neamt and the touristic potential as a resort fit for winter sports. The weather from the last days, together with the snow that fell and the low temperatures made possible the opening of the 2010 – 2011 Ski Season in Piatra Neamt. The ski slope from Cozla Hill in Piatra Neamt was reorganized and the artificial snow canons are placed along the slope since the beginning of this week. The protection systems from the base of the slope were also improved. The ski slope is now ready to receive all those that love winter sports.

The ice-skating rink located in “Peste Vale” Entertainment Complex from Piatra Neamt is now open for all those that love this sport. Ice-skating represents one of the best ways for locals and tourists to spend some quality time with family and friends. The low temperatures and the snow from the last days started the ice-skating fun.
If the temperatures will be less than 5 degrees Celsius, then the ice will be perfect to skate on. These limitations are due to the installation that creates the ice.
