Ion Creanga days – the XLIII edition

Between December 14 and 16 took placed at Humulesti the event Ion Creanga Days, the XLIII edition. The organizers of the event were Neamt County Council, the Museums Complex from Neamt County, the Local Town Hall from Targu Neamt, the Cultural Foundation Ion Creanga from Targu Neamt and the Scientific and Cultural Foundation Constantin Matasa from Piatra Neamt.

Neamt County at the Romanian Touristic Fair

Between November 15 and 18 2012 Neamt County Council participated at the XXVIII edition of the Romanian Touristic Fair. The event took place at Romexpo building from Bucharest where the stand of Neamt County was accommodated on a 120 square meters surface. The Romanian Touristic Fair is the biggest event of this kind from Romania where tourists can come and choose from a wide variety of touristic offers.

Winter customs and traditions in Neamt County

Winter at Sihastria Monastery

The exhibition “Salonul de iarna” from Lascar Vorel Galleries

Between December 6 2012 and January 15 2013 the Artists Union from Romania Neamt County and Neamt County Museum complex invite you to visit the exhibition “Salonul de iarna” (“The winter saloon”) that will take place at Lascar Vorel  Galleries from Piatra Neamt. The exhibition “Obiceiuri populare de iarna” at the History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt

Starting with December 6 at the History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt you can visit the exhibition “Obiceiuri populare de iarna” (“Traditional winter customs”). The exhibition contains about 100 pieces that illustrate old rituals like Plugusorul (The Plow), dances with masks like The Goat and The Bear.
The traditional artisan Neculai Popa from Tarpesti (1919 – 2010) was the most well known figure from this area that kept not only these traditions alive but also created and collected an impressive amount of masks and artifacts connected to these winter traditions. …
