Creations of the local artisans from these days continue to maintain the old traditions alive as a link between past and present. Finding the new ways and leaving the old ones behind was a process where traditions were the starting point and also the inspiration.
Local artisans that work in wood added new decorations to the traditional objects they were making. This is the way in which the high wooden gates appeared with floral decorations, shepherd clubs, staffs traditionally decorated, wooden masks and furniture pieces.

Wednesday August 15 2012 the Orthodox Church celebrates the Passing of St Mary Mother of Jesus. In this religious day in Neamt County there are two important monasteries that celebrate their patron: Varatec and Bistrita Monasteries.

Tuning Fest Festival in Piatra Neamt – first edition 2012

Between August 10 and 12 2012 took place at Tineretului Swimming Pool from Piatra Neamt the first edition of “Tuning Fest”. At the event participated over 50 cars. On Friday August 10, starting with 19:00 in the parking of Galeria Mall started the parade that presented the cars on a tour through the town.
The route went through the center of the town and ended at Tineretului Swimming Pool Complex. Some of strongest and fine audio installations were brought here to the 6 edition of the National Championship of Car Audio.

Friday August 3 2012 took place the opening of the exhibition of the painter Romeo Ionescu at “Lascar Vorel” Galleries from Piatra Neamt. Romeo Ionescu is constantly preoccupied with matters of the Genesis in his art. His work is inspired by the unique figures of the Cucuteni Culture.
Romeo Ionescu was born in Targu Neamt in 1963 and graduated in 1998 the University of Design and Plastic Art “Geroge Enescu” from Iasi. These days he works as a restorer at the Institute of Archeology of the Romanian Academy in Iasi.

The film festival “Punguta cu doi bani” 2012

Between August 8 and 12 2012 took place at “Dacia Panoramic” Cinematograph from Piatra Neamt a new edition of the Film Festival for children “Punguta cu doi bani”. Over the five days of festival were presented recent productions most of them from foreign countries. The jury of this edition included great personalities of the movie world like Mike Gordon.
