Monastic creations

From the early monastic settlements the abbots organized trade workshops. Their “products” were distributed at other monasteries from the entire Moldova region. The most well known nun monasteries from Neamt County are Agapia and Varatec.
At Varatec Monastery in 1940 there were workshops of religious embroidery and book manufacturing, carpets and weaving, religious painting and decorative art. Many nuns became well known for their skills and were sent to other monasteries to teach their art.

The exhibition of the Ethnography Museum from Piatra Neamt

At the end of 2013, the Museums Complex from Neamt County opened a new permanent exhibition at the Ethnography Museum from Piatra Neamt. The project to restore the museum was created to restore the entire Royal Court Area. The museum was part of this project because of the vast ethnographic collection.

Traditions in the mountains of Neamt County

Once you reached Neamt County as a visitor you can see the whole history of this place, starting with the ancient stone tools and ending with the modern ones. A complex exhibition can be seen at the history and ethnography museum from Bicaz.
This museum is the most important one from the mountain area. It was first open in 1958 with the purpose of presenting the construction of the first dam from Romania and the creation of Izvorul Muntelui – Bicaz Lake.

Ion Creanga Memorial House as an architectural monument

“Bogoslov” Church from the graveyard of Neamt Monastery

“Bogoslov” Church from the graveyard of Neamt Monastery was built on the place of an old hermitage. This religious settlement was built in stone and brick between 1834 and 1835 during the abbots Dometian and Neonil. The church can be visited and is located outside the walls of Neamt Monastery.
