Pilgrimage with the occasion of Varatec and Bistrita Monasteries patron

Wednesday August 15 2012 the Orthodox Church celebrates the Passing of St Mary Mother of Jesus. In this religious day in Neamt County there are two important monasteries that celebrate their patron: Varatec and Bistrita Monasteries.
Varatec Monastery celebrates its patron on August 15 and 16. Pilgrims from all over the country are expected to come at this manifestation. Religious art collections in Neamt County

Neamt Monastery museum – The museum displays cult objects made out of precious metal, embroideries, fabrics, wood sculptures all made by the monks from the monastery or that were received as gifts over time from different rules. All these objects contain important historical information about our past and our traditions. Because of its wealth, Neamt Monastery was a target of many attacks. In Neamt County many old traditions and crafts are kept alive by the local artisans. Every detail of these crafts that are transmitted from one generation to another reflects the history and the cultural heritage of this area.

See the flowers from the top of Ceahlau Mountain

Ceahlau National Park has a surface of 7742,5 ha and it’s located in Neamt County. The park hosts many protected flower and animal species. The flora from Ceahlau Mountain has 1097 species and 206 sub-species that represent 30% of Romania’s flora and 60% from Neamt County flora. Also on Ceahlau Mountain there are 61 protected by law flower species.
Among the rare flower species from Ceahlau Mountain there are Leontopodium alpinum, Cypripedium calceolus, Nigritella nigra, N.rubra, Taxus baccata, Larix decidua ssp.carpatica, Trollius europaeus.

Summer sunrise on Ceahlau Mountain

Ceahlau Mountain stands out among the surrounding mountains because of its unmistakable shape. This is the most interesting mountain area from the central part of the Eastern Carpathians. A new season at Tineretului Swimming Pool from Piatra Neamt

On June 1 2012 was the official opening of the Touristic Complex “Peste Vale”. With this occasion took place a series of shows and fun activities for children. As in all the other years the town’s public swimming pool becomes one of the most searched locations in Neamt County to take a bath or enjoy the sun rays.
