The beauty of winter at Secu Monastery

It’s a beautiful winter with lots of snow in Neamt County. As always the beauty of nature invite you to outdoor walks, to admire the beautiful environment. A beautiful place is Secu Monastery that is located on the range of Vanatori Natural Park, at the foot of Vasan Mountain. Pilgrimage during the Advent in Neamt County

The Orthodox Church started the advent on November 14. This will last until December 24, the day before Christmas. The Advent is dedicated to the birth of Jesus Christ and in Neamt County this event is celebrated in a traditional way in all the communities.

Vanatori Natural Park hosts on its territory numerous touristic attractions such as the old monasteries build in the forests of this park.

Pilgrimage with the occasion of Varatec and Bistrita Monasteries patron

Wednesday August 15 2012 the Orthodox Church celebrates the Passing of St Mary Mother of Jesus. In this religious day in Neamt County there are two important monasteries that celebrate their patron: Varatec and Bistrita Monasteries.
Varatec Monastery celebrates its patron on August 15 and 16. Pilgrims from all over the country are expected to come at this manifestation. The painting from Tazlau Monastery

The church from Tazlau Monastery was built by ruler Stefan cel Mare and was painted in 1496. Judging on the inscriptions found inside the church we find that the painting was remade between 1858 and 1859. During this time the interior of the church was also restored and the painting should’ve been executed in oil.
