The History and Ethnography Museum Târgu-Neamt has the origin in a first museum exhibition organized at School no. 2 from Tg. Neamt, in 1940’s, having the title Neamt Fortress Museum. In 1957, at the celebration of 500 years of the enthronement of Stefan cel Mare in Moldavia, already existed The Neamt Fortress Museum and the District Museum of Stefan cel Mare , Târgu Neamţ.
